We had a hard time figuring out how to get in the building and find our room. Once that was sorted out, everything else was perfect. Our unit was extremely spacious and beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. They allowed pets and we brought our two dogs. I would definitely go back.
The room quality at Solora Lodges Aurora exceeded expectations - spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the amenities you'd want in a modern apartment-style accommodation. The facilities themselves are definitely well-maintained and comfortable. However, the experience was dampened by minimal front desk staffing, which made check-in and getting assistance more challenging than it should have been. For a property of this caliber, having adequate staff coverage would really elevate the overall guest experience. If you're looking for quality accommodations and don't mind being fairly self-sufficient during your stay, this could work well. Just don't expect much in terms of traditional hotel service.
The apartment size is decent ample space as advertised for a family of 4. I do need to share some concerns about our recent stay, as the experience did not meet the standards we expected for a 4-star suite. The kitchen was not clean, cabinets had food stains and we had to wash dishes in the morning rush (throwing wrenches into our day activity) The carpet was dirty and had an unpleasant smell. In the master bathroom, only the cold-water knob worked. In addition, the lack of a front desk made it difficult to resolve these issues in a timely manner, and the building itself was confusing to navigate. For a property positioned as 4-star, these basics should be in proper working order, and a front desk should really be available for guest support. I honestly booked this resort with the expectation of a 4-star experience, even paying more despite the property being farther from Banff compared to other, better-located options. Given the condition of the suite and the inconvenience we experienced, this was especially disappointing. I hope you take this feedback seriously, as these improvements would greatly enhance the guest experience.
