It is a very nice and comfortable hotel. For an experience of cacau/chocolate immersion, it’s incomparable. The entire decoration, including objects, photos everywhere in the hotel is about the topic. In addition, the guests have access to free chocolate day and night (very delicious, by the way). The pool and the toy library/playground are fantastic! I have also appreciated a lot the Monet trail and the afternoon tea. Regarding traditional hotel and restaurant experience, they are clearly in the learning curve. They have some outstanding staff that I would highlight: Renan, Lu, Cris, Sr. José, Marcos and Christian (some in the recreation and front desk, I won’t remember the names were also very friendly). At the same time, we experienced restaurant staff not that friendly, answering by the book, very understaffed restaurant in one of the nights, and unsatisfactory labor conditions, such as the same staff reporting that went home 2am and was back after few hours to work during the breakfast, another working outside in the cold with shortsleeved uniform. We were in three, but there were 2 towels in the room, and the welcome chocolate was not on the desk, just the message associated to the chocolate. While they made uniquely delicious cheese bread, we didn’t have memorable meal experiences in the restaurant: raw salmon, cold fondue with local cheeses that tasted like white sauce for pasta, or a salad with GranaPadano and mustard, that came as a small salad with no cheese or mustard. I trust that next time they will advance the weaknesses and keep the delicious chocolate experience.
