Berghotel Hammersbach

I visit the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area often and have stayed at many great hotels, but Hotel Hammersbach is by far the best. The location is wonderful—peaceful, close to nature, yet well connected by public transport, so a car isn’t really necessary. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection for all tastes. I was especially impressed by the vegetarian omelet and vegetable steak—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The spa area was a highlight of the stay. For an even better experience, it would be great to offer infused water (like cucumber, lemon, or orange) in the sauna area for a refreshing touch. Overall, the service, comfort, and attention to detail at this hotel were outstanding. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

This place has location, location, location. In July the entire Garmisch-Partenkirschen area is like heaven on earth weather-wise, but I really enjoyed the cool evening air wafting down the mountain into the back yard of this hotel cooling everything off at night. It couldn't be more soothing hearing the beautiful Hammersbach creek out the window off the balcony. It's so green and lush around here. This hotel is located in a simply SPECTACULAR location. Even though the 3rd child's bed seemed substandard (very hard with a big bump in the middle), the adult beds were fine. Liked the split bathroom and view off our private deck. Loved the very cool underground pool and the wonderful Bavarian breakfast included with our room (the very polite chef came out to greet us every morning). Nice that they rent bikes here too. I will be back to this place....I've been to fancier hotels, but none in a more beautiful location than this one.

I recently stayed at Berghotel Hammersbach and overall had a lovely experience. The absolute highlight of this hotel is its unbeatable location nestled right at the foot of the mountains with direct access to beautiful hiking trails like the Höllentalklamm. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, this place is ideal. The scenery is breathtaking, and the atmosphere is relaxing it really feels like a hidden gem in the Alps. The room was cozy and clean, and breakfast was great with a solid variety of options to start the day. I could totally imagine coming back here, especially in winter to see the landscape in a different light. One thing I’d kindly like to point out is the staff friendliness unfortunately not everything was handled professionally, there was a certain distance or lack of warmth that guests can pick up on. It’s nothing major or offensive, and of course, we all have our days, but a little more welcoming vibe would make the stay feel even more special. That being said, I really enjoyed my time here, and I’d still recommend Berghotel Hammersbach to anyone looking for a nature getaway with excellent hiking right at your doorstep.
