Berghotel Hoher Knochen Ruhe & Natur

Beautiful hotel set in the beautiful mountains. We visited with our 4 and 1 year old kids so we could not do any of the hiking around the area but we loved our stay there. We went beginning of October. The view of the mountains from our room was just breathtaking! There is a lovely playground and an indoor pool and an AMAZING play room that my kids just absolutely adored! The food was delicious and the staff are so kind and friendly. We will definitely go there again!

Beautiful location in woods and hilly mountains. Loads of hiking options, many things in the hotel for kids like pool, ping pong, swimming pool. Outside playground for smaller children. Bike park and ski in Winterberg only 11 minutes away. Large room, great breakfast, very attentive staff. Food good (not extraordinary). Hotel amenities show some signs of wear and tear. All in all good value.

However, the dinner dish, schnitzel with pfifferlingen (chanterelle mushrooms), predominantly featured regular mushrooms, which was a minor disappointment. The bottle of Hochdörfer grüner silvaner was excellent. One of the hotel's notable features is its extensive spa facilities, including a sauna, swimming pool, and relaxation areas. While certain areas of the spa may appear somewhat dated, they are well-maintained and provide a serene environment for relaxation. The single rooms at the hotel are compact, and the beds are somewhat narrow. However, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is a highlight, offering a wide variety of options to suit various preferences. The extensive selection ensures there is something for everyone, and the quality of the breakfast items is commendable. For outdoor enthusiasts and hikers, the location of Berghotel Hoher Knochen is an ideal choice. The surrounding area provides ample opportunities for nature exploration and scenic hikes.
