We fly 6000 miles to enjoy all that SA has to offer and we enjoyed Berghouse so much last January we came again this year too, and for longer. It's one of those places that stay in your heart and you miss when you're away. Yes, the driveway is an adventure, and yes, the ponies take advantage of any sign of weakness but that's what makes it special, it's the little perfections and imperfections that make it so memorable. Lovely staff, gorgeous breakfasts, great house walks and trails and sunsets over the Amphitheatre. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and return. One of our favourite places in the World. And there's zebras within the boundaries too! Thank you Alex and Joanne.
Beautiful and calm place to rest, enjoy tasty homemade food while watching Drakensberg mountain's view from the cottage porch. Perfect for hiking in the beautiful Royal Natal National Park. Chantal and Vaughn are very nice and helpful hosts - thank you! Agnes & family, Norway
Our stay at the Berghouse and Cottages was nothing short of delightful. The amazing view and super hospitality left us in awe. The kindness of the staff and owners was exceptional, especially when we had to extend our stay due to a snowstorm. Despite the farm needing their attention after the storm, they went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed. The lodge is accessible via a gravel road, which posed no issue even with the remaining snow. We traveled with a light SUV, which we recommend for anyone vacationing in the eastern part of South Africa. A truly unique and memorable experience! 🏞️❄️
