Stayed there for 5 nights in early January 2024. Very nice and professional front desk staff, actually every employee at the hotel was very nice. Room was spacey enough and clean, small coffee maker and stocked mini-fridge. Bedding was super clean, beds comfortable. Bathroom was clean, nicely warm and had typical toiletries. My favorite part was breakfast - great selection of food, always nicely presented pot of coffee, variety of teas. My picture shows one of our breakfasts. Everything presented nicely and replenished promptly by very welcoming breakfast hall attendants. Being used to similar level hotels in the US I was pleasantly surprised by the real (not plastic) cutlery, plates, and beautiful glass tea cups. Hotel is located about 20 - 30 min by foot from the city center, right by the main hospital (surprisingly little noise) and some university buildings. Parking lot for guests. An Italian restaurant onsite. A supermarket, pharmacy and Domino's, Subway and Burger King very close-by. Would definitely recommend.
The hotel has a classic, somewhat older style. There was no air conditioning in the room, so we had to open the window — but since it’s near a hospital, ambulance sirens were quite frequent and a bit disruptive at night. The kettle and coffee/tea were stored inside the wardrobe, and we only noticed them when checking out — a small sign or note would’ve been helpful. The shower had only a half-glass panel, so water splashed out easily. Also, the bathtub didn’t have a non-slip mat, so it might not be ideal for older guests. It’s a bit far from the city center, so you’ll need to drive or take public transport. On the bright side, free parking is available, which is very convenient. The breakfast was nice — simple, classic German-style with everything you’d expect.
The rooms were cozy and the reception available at all times of the day. Not the best location, about 20mins bus ride from the train station. Had some difficulty finding the main entrance. The best part was breakfast, everything was so delicious 😋.
