Best Western Hotel President

We visit this hotel frequently and we have always had good experiences here. It is perfectly placed close to several public transportation options at it has walking distance to Kurfürstendamm and KaDeWe. We always enjoy a drink in the bar (unfortunately a smoking bar) after a long day experiencing the city and last time we visited we also had a very good dinner in the restaurant.

Overall: Good. It is very convenient to reach; close to a bus stop and U-bahn. This hotel provides free internet access service; but it was slow and also disconnected sometimes. Furthermore it did not work on the day of leaving. Quality of the room is good and they provide cleaning service every day with kind staff. The staff in the restaurant was so kind and diligent; they arranged every table without rest, even though it were small. The food was generally O.K.

I stayed in the Presidential suite - which is apparently a better standard of room. Nice decor, but no working air conditioning. Room was very hot, damp and airless. Wifi is limited to 30 guests at any one time (according to reception) and you are logged off every ten minutes. I asked why my room was not like the one's on their website (with balcony). I was told that this was limited to only a small number of rooms. The reception suggested that when booking i should request a balcony suite along with the style of room. I informed the receptionist that I couldn't sleep in an airless damp room, but was told that the hotel was full and nothing could be done. I asked for the Manager - Mr Jan Brownshweiht - and was told he didn't work onsite but he would call me. This reply was given to me Friday night, Saturday day & night and Sunday. Today, having returned to the UK, I rang BW customer care in Phoenix to complain. Here's hoping my complaint is well supported.
