Best Western Parkhotel Hagenberg

Hotel looks very new and modern. One of those places with a big window to the bathroom, our room is for wheel chair users. Free garage parking, seems to be access to EV charging. Good space rooms. Restaurant kitchen open daily until 20:00. Seems to be only one lift, so you'd usually have to wait some seconds for it. Hotel seems to lack normal AC. Temperature remains at 24c all night despite trying 19c setting, which was a bit too warm if using the blankets.

Perfect and clean. Nice television luxurious bathroom and great beds.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. Shortly after making our reservation (within about 30 minutes), our car broke down and had to be towed to a garage, making it impossible for us to continue with our travel plans. I contacted the property immediately to explain the situation and requested a cancellation. There was still plenty of time to rebook the room for someone else, but the cancellation policy stated that the full amount would still be charged. The property advised me not to cancel through Booking.com, so I submitted a free cancellation request instead. When I followed up the next day, I was met with a flat “no” almost instantly, without any real consideration or empathy. It felt like the decision had already been made before I even finished explaining. It’s hard not to wonder if the room was rebooked and they were paid twice. Either way, the lack of understanding and customer service was disappointing, especially considering the circumstances were completely out of our control. Would not recommend based on this experience.
