Beautiful hotel in an even better location. Appreciated how central it was to all of Bern's sites. Easy to walk from the train station. Room was larger than expected with beautiful view from the windows. Went to breakfast early and had a full selection of fresh food.
Walking distance from train station and easy to navigate. Greeted by Tobias for check in pleasant and informative, made sure we downloaded app for free transportation and discounts around the city. Room was clean and quiet 4th floor facing Main Street. The bathroom had a rain shower head, hand wand, a plus for us and it was walk-in not bathtub. We asked maid service for extra pillows and they responded quickly, however for 3 days we didn’t request service. The breakfast buffet was included basic and sometimes slow to replenish. All staff was attentive but I want to mention that Natalie stood out because she actually engaged your customers making us feel warm and welcomed. Location of hotel central to all the sites in old town and walking to practically everything. We enjoyed all our days discovering the history of the city and the river is beautiful. This was our 5th hotel in our itinerary, every hotel at check out asked about our stay, how we liked everything even if it was scripted it makes for feeling I’m glad I spent my $$$ here. The check out which was not busy with your female desk clerk was chilly and word less.
I stayed at this hotel for two nights. The location is excellent — everything is within walking distance, including restaurants, cafes, shops, and a supermarket. However, I was disappointed with the hotel itself. The staff were not friendly and never smiled. It made me wonder if it was because we are Arabs. No one offered to help with our luggage, and we had to carry everything ourselves to the annex building next to the hotel. The room was small but okay. Still, I felt very uncomfortable seeing dogs in the lobby, as this hotel allows pets, which isn’t ideal for everyone.
