Second stay in a Best Western Hotel and happy with my choice once again. This one is a hotel with a familiar touch, safe and cosy in a perfect location opposite the main train station and within walking distance to the sights, shops etc. Some people write that it's noisy, as the rooms on the front side of the building face a major road with cars and streetcars, so I brought ear plugs. However I didn't need them, I didn't find it v. noisy at all. The room was spacious with a v. large bathroom, good shower plus bidet. There was also a small hallway. Comfortable bed with a choice of pillows. Room service was excellent every day, thank you! All the gentlemen at reception were v.friendly and welcoming, I got a cappuccino for free one morning and Allesandro gave me a late check out which I was grateful for, as my train home left in the afternoon. I love best western hotels, Although this one location has been great, we didn’t enjoy our stay so much. The air conditioning was not working because of the hotel policy , and it was too noisy to leave the windows open. There was a problem with their wake up system, and we got a disturbing wake up call at 6:30, in both days of our stay.
There is no parking anywhere around the building and the garage is small and was packed by the time I arrived. The rooms do not live up to the advertising. Dirty, mold or something black on the wall in my room and a terrible musty smell. I booked it for 4 nights but only stayed a couple hours until I could book a new hotel. The front desk acted surprised when I left and couldn’t figure out the bill so they said they would email it to me but I haven’t ever gotten the receipt. I believe they may have charged me the entire amount for the stay even though I left early. The hotel’s response is incorrect, I did stay at this hotel in May 2025. If they truly cared about feedback, they could simply look my name up in their system. I even told the hotel concierge I would be providing a review due to the service which is very rare for me to provide bad reviews. I have traveled for years for work and have never seen this level of disregard of service. For reference I am a Spire Elite member through IHG crossing a million rewards points several times. The concierge told me there was a large bus taking up their parking and to go to the underground garage several blocks away. Parking on the street around the hotel is near impossible.
