Avoid this place. It’s unreliable, with staff that’s unhelpful, indifferent and borderline rude. The breakfast staff and morning crew were better but they didn’t make up for the rest. The room smelled and there was mold on the shower curtain. They put a crib in our room when we had called ahead and asked for a cot. By the time we got here, they were out of cots. No apology. The fridge in the room didn’t work. And they flatly refused to give us extra towels. Breakfast buffet was the bare minimum. We’ve been coming here for years on our way to PEI. We’ve previously been happy with our stays. These hotels are independently owned and banking on the brand name. There may be new management at the Moncton Best Western because it has gone downhill and it’s on its way to becoming a dump. Crazy considering their high prices. There are plenty of other hotels. We’ll go elsewhere next year.
I am surprised this Hotel has a 4 star rating. It was a huge disappointment. We booked this hotel for the kids as there was a jacuzzi in the room. The room stank so bad we searched around for the smell, found a very old conditioner with mold on the outer casing, directly where the air comes out. There was also ant poison in the corner on the floor with dust, wood chips and who knows what also all around it, like 2 tablespoon worth (hard to miss). There were cobwebs along with a living spider in a web. Anyways, we asked to change rooms, couldn’t as they were booked and were promised it would be extra cleaned the next day. Not only was it not extra cleaned, they did not even pass by our room for a regular cleaning. We then did change room and downgraded to one without the jacuzzi. It was a huge inconvenience to pack up and switch rooms mid-stay. The worker at reception was doing her best and she was all alone to answer to all kinds of different people and requests. There were wet floor signs everywhere, all the time- even when the floor was not wet. The sofas and arm chairs looked so dirty. I wouldn’t have even sat on them. The bed cover had the tag up at the top near my face. There were consistently only towels for 2, even though we were 4. The breakfast was just OK. No fresh fruits or anything, just the minimum. I tried not to let this stay ruin our family vacation but it was awful to feel gross in your « home » away from home. A regretful experience overall. Oh also, you can’t cast anything so in the room you just have cable, and all the wonderful commercials to come with it. Lastly, yes it’s close to everything but it’s a pain to access as there is one entrance in a very busy boulevard that immediately branches off to an autoroute.
Traveling Canada, province after province, hotel after hotel. This was the most expensive and the worst quality so far. We even refused to even try their "complimentary " breakfast, no expectations after the poor room quality experience. And, they hold a $250 deposit, incase you destroy their outdated, bad smelling room. No microwave in the room, we all end up using the smallest ever microwave in the cafeteria. My daughter started to cry seeing the room, begging to better sleep in the car. Don't know how people would rate 4 stars and above this hotel.
