Best Western Plus The Hub Hotel

Despite being a bit outside the city center, this hotel is definitely worth its four stars. We didn’t use all the available amenities because we mainly needed a place to sleep, but overall we were very happy with our stay. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. There’s a shuttle service from the hotel, and the bar offers drinks at really reasonable prices. The surrounding area might not be the most charming, but public transport is about a 15-minute walk away, and there’s a shopping mall only 5 minutes away by car. One of the biggest pluses for us – the hotel is super dog-friendly! Pets stay here for free, which is amazing. I initially thought parking cost €20 per night, but it turned out to be only €10 – the parking is well-designed and we had no issues at all. The rooms are nice and clean, maybe a little update would be great (like bigger TVs or smart TVs), but for us, they were more than enough. We stayed on the 7th floor and had a beautiful city view – no complaints. Daily housekeeping was excellent, and the ladies were very kind. We even received a small Easter gift, which was a lovely touch. We didn’t try the restaurant since we ate out, but for accommodation, drinks, and the overall service – we definitely recommend it!

We checked in a bit late since we had time to explore the city center after arriving from Zurich. This hotel is located slightly outside the city center, but I’d say it deserves its 4-star rating. The staff were friendly, approachable, and could communicate well in English—which we really appreciated, especially after coming from Prague where language barriers were a bit more common. It was refreshing to be understood without much effort! We mainly used the hotel as a place to rest, so we didn’t get to explore much of their amenities. But the room met all our needs—spacious, clean, and well-kept. One thing to note for fellow travelers from the Philippines: their toilet set-up is quite different from what we’re used to. There’s no adjustable bidet, and it’s easy to confuse it with a lavatory if you’re not familiar😂😂😂,so take note! They even gave us a wake-up call to make sure we didn’t miss our early tour—super thoughtful! Also, a heads up: the ground floor here is marked as “0” (not G/F or G for groundfloor), and the elevator is a bit slow, though not really an issue during off-peak hours. Breakfast was also a highlight—they serve a good variety: bacon, sausages, cereals, fresh fruits, jams, and a great selection of breads. Their warm croissants are a must-try I personally love their chocolate croissants—flaky and buttery, just perfect. I skipped the coffee and went for orange juice this time. Breakfast starts at 7:30 AM on Sundays, so we only had a short window to enjoy it before heading out. Overall, we had a great stay at The Hub—comfortable, accommodating, and definitely worth considering if you’re in the area.

The behaviour of the hotel staff makes it far from a 4 star property. I stayed here for 1 night almost a month back but thought of writing the review today as when I talk about my Euro trip with someone, this hotel still leaves me with a bad memory. Had to face racism for the first time in life with hotel desk not allowing me to use a microwave oven for heating baby food, the chef specifically going to the tables of Indians to rudely say "No food on the go, it's not a supermarket" I did not feel like having breakfast there at all, we ordered from outside. Please avoid this place to be able to enjoy happy holiday memories.
