Best Western Plus Travel Inn Hotel

The Best Western Carlton could not be in a better location when visiting Melbourne. It's a quick walk into the city centre. The area is quiet and has access to great cafe's, restaurants, everything you need. It's a short walk to the Carlton Gardens park from the hotel which makes the stay even more pleasant if you need a get back to nature quick fix. The rooms are clean, modest, have everything you need . The staff are always friendly, helpful and available. I've stayed there three times now and will continue to do so when travelling for work as I do regularly to Melbourne. So happy to have found this hotel.

I booked catering for a professional event at Travel Inn Hotel, Carlton for 10 people. Lunch was $25 per person and afternoon tea $15 per person. While the weekend surcharge was kindly waived, the food provided fell well short of expectations for both the price and the number of attendees. The image attached shows the full extent of what was offered for both meals, including tea and coffee. I raised this with hotel management and later escalated it to head office, but unfortunately both responses were dismissive, insisting the amount was adequate. To be fair, the staff on the weekend were pleasant and professional, but the catering fell significantly below what I would consider reasonable value. I hope this helps others make informed decisions when booking events at this venue.

For the price of the place you’d think it would be decent. Nope. My bed was rock hard and my back is in terrible pain thanks to it, I barely got any sleep. The breakfast is 7-9 and very mediocre, and isn’t included in the price so you have to pay even more. Parking also isn’t included anymore, soon they will probably make you pay for the air. The TV is ancient as well, don’t even bother trying to use it. The bathroom is tiny, you can barely move in the shower or go to the toilet. Disappointed and in pain.
