Best Western Red Lion Hotel

Lovely traditional building in the centre of Salisbury. Basic but clean. No Aircon but the windows open and they supply a fan, plus the windows are small enough that the rooms don't get fried with heat. Plenty of power sockets in the room. Buffet spread in the morning with cooked food to order, so slow time for that. Looked like they do a lovely afternoon tea.

Popped in for a quick lunch. Pleasant lounge next to a courtyard and polite staff who even brought the right dishes to the right person. A lot of people were enjoying the fancy tea. The gizmo near the exit door was apparently installed to buff up your Elizabethan ruff - not much used today!

Outside of the very nice people, this hotel is like a motel 6 that’s historical. I’m sure there are restrictions placed by the UK bc it is a historical sites, but it had a lot of short falls. The breakfast wasn’t anything better than an extended stay hotel. Don’t recommend the breakfast unless it’s a buffet. You also couldn’t order coffee if the buffet is the breakfast option. It’s black coffee only. Our room had a massive hole behind the toilet, and constant ran. The room wasn’t serviced daily despite being out of the room for extended times. There was no ac but there were fans provided upon request. They did have a pack n play for us but no cover for the pack n play pad.our room had been updated but it looked like someone who never tiled before re did the bathroom. Just over all I’d pick another hotel, it was right next to the market and shopping which was also very nice.
