A really lovely hotel in a beautiful location with a wealth of facilities and a very strong environmental/sustainability ethic. We chose a large south facing room with wonderful lake views and had the 3/4 package which included breakfast, lunch, tea and cake and dinner ( if you could eat it all!!) Food was good and nicely presented and they did a good job of looking after two plant based eaters. If I was to improve I would have appreciated tea making facilities and a larger shower/bathroom. Good bus links to Fussen and from there to the wider area. Lots of good walking in the area and direct from the hotel. Also plenty of interesting places to visit, most notably Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. Overall we had a great holiday here and would definitely recommend it.

Our second time staying at this property, located on the hillside overlooking the Hopfensee just a 10 minute drive into Fussen! Needless to say the views from this property are beautiful and even more so if you venture out on some of the many hiking trails. Parking is available, including some EV stations - Check in was a little busy when we arrived around 4pm but no problem. Much to our delight the *room was really well appointed, almost newly renovated which was such a nice feeling as it was so much nicer than what we remembered from a previous trip 18 or 20 years ago - since we had booked last minute we paid a little less than the regular price (but more than we typically pay) so was really pleased and a little surprised with the room! *Of course that only lasted 10 minutes … a frantic knock on the door with an extremely apologetic gentleman saying we’ve been assigned the wrong room and we need to move you to another room a offering us a complimentary bottle of red wine for the inconvenience. No problem, fortunately we had not unpacked yet as we were still admiring our lovely home for the next 3 days so off we went! Well, if ever you went from a 4+ star room to a 2- star room in a few minutes this was it! It was a flashback to when we visited 20 years ago, fortunately, that bottle of red wine arrived just in time for us to enjoy which eased the pain somewhat LOL - To say the least we were extremely disappointed, again, admittedly as it was a last minute booking we paid a little less, but we could have paid even less at a number of lovely properties in the area if we were trying to save money - The point I want to make is that although we received a discounted rate, we still over paid for a room that was last decorated a decade or two ago with a tiny shower!! Our room was located at the very back end of the hotel overlooking the hillside meadow above a workshop or hotel storage area and parking which was noisy especially in the mornings! Overview: Beautiful location, comfortable property with friendly employees, some were well-versed in English. Breakfast included, was great value and really enjoyable. There were two families with small children who were extremely loud and running around at breakfast times which was a little annoying. Personally, IMHO … I feel that this should be an adult only hotel, each to his own. We also enjoyed two of their buffet style dinners, both were wonderful. Wi-Fi included was spotty at times but not bad - Unfortunately, our experience was just OK, not great … but could have been wonderful. Although our room was dated and rather dull, with a little effort and minimal cost it could be a whole different experience. We expected better from a hotel of this nature. Should’ve been a 5 star review, could’ve been a 3 star but I ‘m going to be generous and give it a 4 star.

This is a BIOhotel. Wich we where not familiair with. And also not looking for specifically. When booking a stay for 3 nights we looked mainly at pictures and reviews. Which look good. But, no WIFIbetween midnight and 07.00 (I have no clue why / while cell phone reception is poor) No real lobby or place to sit comfortable when not in the room; consider that the bar is not a nice place, it looks awfull. Breakfast is good but the one thing you do expect in a BIO hotel are freshly squeezed juices. No, instead offered were factory made juices with "BIO" written on the bottles. Dissapointing. Our hotel room had no airconditioning, small bathroom, so windows open at night for fresh air. Unfortunately daily at around 6.30 supplies were brought to the hotel, excactly under our room. With a lot of noise. No coffee (sachets or coffemaker) or tea cooker in the room. Good wellness and outdoor swimming pool. Friendly staff. For a price of 300 per night I consider this overpriced. Whe had better.
