Black Dolphin Inn

I stayed here for one night with my daughter and my husband for his 32nd birthday. We usually stay at hotels but took a chance with this Inn, and wow were we happy we did. Every step of staying here was effortless and amazing. I wanted to plan something special to be set up in the room as a surprise for my husband, they offer packages for this but most of them contained alcohol and we don’t drink, the staff went above and beyond to offer replacements that exceeded my expectations. My husband was so surprised and very happy. They offered a mini pack and play crib for our daughter to sleep in. Breakfast was included, they take your order the night before and were very accommodating to any requests. The staff were beyond friendly, it felt like staying with family. Our room was incredible with the most gorgeous view of the bay; they even had binoculars to watch for dolphins. The rooms and facilities were spotless. They even had a charger for our electric vehicle. The hotel was so conveniently located near the historic downtown area and a short drive to the beach. We had the most amazing and relaxing experience, it was beyond our expectations. If we ever come back to New Smyrna we will absolutely be staying here again. 10/10

The Black Dolphin is an eclectic, extremely enjoyable place to stay. We absolutely loved it. We came down for our anniversary and after staying at beach houses and upscale hotels, we decided to give the dolphin a try. We smiled and laughed a lot, had cocktails with other patrons and our host, a young black haired, high energy young lady made the event all the more appealing. You could tell she loved this place! I have seen in a few reviews about having to walk across a shared balcony to get to their room and their private balcony. Yes it may be quirky but we thought it was incredible. We shared cocktails with another couple on the shared balcony and the retreated to our private balcony overlooking the inland waterway. Dolphins swam as the sunset. It was glorious. Then to wake up to our 830 scheduled breakfast served to us on our balcony, it was magical. I really did not want to leave. My wife and I have told many friends about the Black Dolphin and I personally cannot wait to return. A great experience!

Beautiful old up scale inn. Room was beautiful as well as the common places. Staff couldn’t be any nicer or attentive. Likes you can choose the time for breakfast and are given 3 choices as well as on your patio, room or dining area. I do wish the patio on 105 had shade or an umbrella as we couldn’t really enjoy sitting out there Lots of cool local places to eat and the River view is amazing.
