Blackthorn Gate

Fantastic first experience of staying at a cabin, on a working farm with fabulous fishing lakes. The cabin is spacious, well-planned and makes the most of the beautiful countryside featured from the lounge and veranda. There is the hot tub which we hope to use on our next visit, and a sauna room. We need to note that if your 14 year old is 6'4", it's best to remember they'd be a tight fit in to a bunk bed! The unexpected highlight was seeing trains pass by on unseen tracks a few fields away, but across our view. Other highlights - the view, the sounds and sight of wildlife, the walks particularly the woodland where we saw a deer... A great central location with easy, quick access to the East coast and North-East England. Highly recommended. Mike & Rita are great hosts and lovely to speak with.

2 years in the making thanks to lockdown but the wait was worth it. Lodge was fantastic with the sauna and hot tub just finishing things off at the end of the day. Views are amazing and to add in some private fishing was a serious bonus. Definitely will be back.

Just returned from a lovely relaxing stay with my family at these wonderful tranquil lodges. The quality of the lodge was first class and very well appointed. The touches that Rita adds really make the difference. The milk and biscuits was a nice thought. Even the binoculars on the bookcase and picnic blanket...all well thought out. The views are stunning whether your sat on the sofa, on the decking or in the hot tub. Thanks again for a lilove stay. Will definitely be back!
