Blackwell Hotel

I had my wedding scheduled for next year. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I have canceled my wedding. I was refunded my deposit immediately and not coaxed to wait on it. Jennifer was so amazing showing us the venue in the first place. It solidified that we wanted the Blackwell hotel. Her understanding and grace knowing that was no longer happening was the reaction I needed. I recommended Jennifer and her services with the Blackwell hotel.

Great location! We loved our stay - the hotel was extremely clean and charming. The staff was available and responsive via text (they don’t have a typical hotel lobby check in), and breakfast was delicious. Will definitely be back again.

Overall a really good experience and we both agree that we would come back. The house is so cool (over 100 years old), however the decor doesn’t really fit the home. That might seem like a silly note, but it stuck out to me. Also, breakfast isn’t served until 9am (which is super late when you are normally up at 6am) and wasn’t really worth the wait. There was just one hot item (very good though! Eggs, breakfast potatoes with cheese and gravy) and then a little bowl of fruit, and a few “pastries” (looked like they were from Costco), yogurt and bagels. It just fell flat to me. They have a big kitchen to make a nice meal… When we stay again we’d probably just have breakfast somewhere else (which is sad because we are at a Bed & BREAKFAST!). Our room had big beautiful windows and lots of room to relax. There was a coffee maker and wine opener in the room (very thoughtful). When I booked our room I saw the beautiful claw foot bath tub and was excited to take a bath. Unfortunately a tub stopper was not provided and was ment to just be a shower. It was very quiet and could hardly tell other people were there. The grounds are beautiful and there is a pool table and games downstairs.
