Non-existent sound proofing made it impossible to sleep with the family on our floor waking up at 5am and knocking on doors and yelling down the hallway and swimming in the pool. On the top floor meant we could also hear all the noise from the pool early in the morning and late at night.

1. Upon arrival at midnight, no one greeted us at the reception. We had to wait for the receptionist, who came out sleepy while rubbing her eyes. We had to drag our luggage by ourselves, unlike the hotel we stayed at in Hanoi. 2. We paid for a laundry service at the last hotel. According to them, it would be done by the afternoon and delivered to our room. However, when we arrived at night, we still had to wait for the laundry, and they initially wanted us to pick it up from reception. After speaking to them, one of the staff finally agreed to send it to the room. 3. Before leaving for the tour, I asked for the quilt to be put inside the duvet cover, only to find that housekeeping didn’t even put the quilt inside, but rather laid it on top without the duvet cover. I called reception at night, and they said housekeeping only operates in the morning. So I had to put the quilt inside by myself, with the help of the receptionist. 4. The room was very noisy and not soundproof. We could hear construction noise from behind the hotel and even guests talking in the corridor just outside the room. 5. On our last day of check-out, we understood that the standard check-out time was at 12 p.m., but the reception called us twice. The first time was to remind us about the check-out time, which we acknowledged. Then they called again before 12 p.m. to tell us to leave the room. We reached the reception at 11:55 a.m., just before 12 p.m.
