We had a wonderful stay at Blue Water Resort and were truly impressed by the overall experience. The property itself is stunning, with excellent amenities, comfortable and spacious rooms, delicious food, and a relaxing atmosphere enhanced by live music in the evenings. A special mention goes to Mr. Shenal, who made our stay even more memorable. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly with a smile and refreshing welcome drinks. Throughout our time here, he was incredibly helpful, friendly, and always approachable. His knowledge and attentiveness truly stood out — he was happy to answer our questions, offer suggestions, and ensure we were well taken care of. Thanks to his delightful presence and the high standards maintained by the resort, our stay was smooth, enjoyable, and relaxing. We highly recommend Blue Water Resort to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-managed getaway
We stayed at Blue Water Hotel for a quick family getaway from Colombo (just about an hour’s drive away), and overall, it was a good value-for-money experience. The hotel has a spacious and welcoming lobby, and the location right by the beach is excellent. The views from the rooms are beautiful, especially during sunset. The pool is large and clean – great for both adults and kids. We had booked a Deluxe Double Room, assuming it came with a bathtub, but were told only "Super Deluxe" rooms have bathtubs – a room category that surprisingly isn't listed on their website. However, the staff were very accommodating and upgraded us free of charge after we explained the situation. We really appreciated this gesture, especially since the kids were looking forward to a bath in the tub. The rooms themselves are a bit dated and could use some maintenance and refurbishment. While they are clean and spacious, a refresh would go a long way. The food was average – nothing to complain about, but nothing exceptional either. The restaurant can get quite noisy. One disappointing moment was when my daughter wanted to take her leftover pastries from her plate to the room, and the staff declined, saying it's against hotel policy. This seemed unnecessary, especially since leftover food likely ends up in the bin anyway. That said, the friendly service, great location, and value on a half-board basis make this a solid option for a short break from the city. With a few improvements, it could be even better.
My wife and I recently attended a wedding at The Blue Water Wadduwa, a resort with a stunning location and beautiful architecture. The venue itself was fantastic for the special occasion. However, we were extremely let down by the food provided for the wedding reception. The quality of the catering was very poor and fell well short of the standards one would expect from a 5-star hotel, especially given the steep prices. This was not just our opinion; the general consensus among a significant number of the guests, including a group of colleagues, was that the food was truly horrible. This was a major disappointment and unfortunately detracted from what should have been a perfect day. The food is a critical part of any event, and for a hotel of this caliber, the lack of quality was unacceptable. While the setting was lovely, the catering needs a serious and immediate review to match the hotel's reputation.
