The hotel was lovely! The rooms are very unique and clean. We had a very tasty breakfast, there's some choices and they all seem delicious but we tried only salmon and avocado toasts. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The bathtub is really a comfort that we loved and the shower also was really nice. We had a lovely stay here(:
BnA has unique art rooms, we chose 1993 and highly recommend it. It was so fun and cool. It was the best bathroom out of the 4 hotels we stayed in through Japan. It had a huge tub and shower in the same room and a separate toilet room with the sink. There was no closet but the bathroom was worth it. The hotel staff was held and friendly. There was a free nightly drink special going on when we stayed. The drinks were very enjoyable. The floor above had a wonderful cafe and coffee shop. We loved it! The location is very good. It's easy to take public transportation and get around from the hotel. We used taxis often due to time and it was very simple.
Incredibly unique and new experience for me personally. To sum it up: you are staying overnight in an art exhibit, but with the luxuries of modern hotel amenities. Our room concept was centered around contrast, and the work by the artist was beautifully done. I don’t want to spoil anything - you should book a room and see for yourself. As for the overall experience, we were greeted with great service. The attendant also provided an in-depth but easy to understand guide for the hotel and room. Side note: attendant recommended the Sansho Gin&Tonic and it was really good. Very cool and different hotel experience — would book again for a different room if/when I’m in Kyoto again. If you can appreciate art or are into art, this is the place for you.
