Stayed for a night on a long road trip. The room was spacious and extremely clean. The reception service was very kind and made sure everything was comfortable for our stay. Definitely recommend.

The hotel manager was really kind, we got in later than the office was open but they were still easy to contact and responsive. They had an after hours check in process, and made up the sofa bed for us since we had mentioned having three adults in the booking. I was very thankful for that since it was so late the last thing we wanted to do was have to make a bed too. The Location is a bit far from downtown and small find but it is clean and easy enough to get to from the tram

Spacious, well-equipped rooms and excellent value make this hotel a practical choice for budget-conscious travelers. I stayed here in July 2023, and overall, it offered excellent value for money. For the price, the service and facilities exceeded expectations. The room was very spacious and came equipped with a kitchen stocked with silverware, as well as a fairly large bathroom. Parking was free on the public street, although spaces directly in front of the hotel’s entrance were limited. That said, the location was a bit unusual for a hotel. The area felt quite industrial, surrounded by automotive businesses, which gave it a less-than-cozy vibe. It’s also fairly far from Heidelberg’s city center, so walking isn’t really an option. If you’re driving, however, it’s about a 15-minute trip to the old town. Inside the building, noise was a bit of an issue. The soundproofing between rooms wasn’t great, so it was easy to hear neighboring guests if they were being loud. This detracted from the overall comfort and would definitely benefit from some improvement. The air conditioning also left room for improvement. It was locked into “full fan speed” mode, with no way to adjust the settings beyond temperature control on a fixed wall unit. This was somewhat frustrating, especially since the cold air blew directly toward the bed, making it uncomfortable to sleep. A remote control or more customizable settings would have made a big difference. To avoid the discomfort, we opted to tilt the windows open for ventilation. Unfortunately, there were no insect screens, so we ended up with a few unwelcome mosquito visitors during the night. The bathroom experience was another minor inconvenience. The water temperature in the shower wasn’t consistent and fluctuated between too hot and too cold, likely due to shared hot water usage during peak times. It’s worth keeping this in mind when planning your showers to avoid any surprises. Despite these drawbacks, the Boardinghotel offers a lot for what you’re paying. The spacious room, kitchen amenities, and free parking make it a great option for budget-conscious travelers, especially if you have a car to navigate the area. With some improvements to soundproofing, air conditioning functionality, and water temperature consistency, this hotel could become an even better choice for visitors to Heidelberg.
