Boeira Garden Hotel Porto Gaia Curio Collection by Hilton

I absolutely loved staying at this hotel. I’m completely confused what the bad reviews are about and why anyone could rate this hotel one star. I had a beautiful stay, particularly for the price I paid after getting a good deal online. I actually arrived a couple of hours before check in and the helpful concierge took my bag and suggested I go and relax in the spa, which was lovely and much needed - all I needed was my swimming trunks because towels and robe were provided. Then when my room was ready I found that she’d taken my bag to my room which was very sweet. The grounds are really beautiful, and the outdoor pool was excellent. My room was the perfect temperature and really big, with his and hers sinks and a huge shower. I had the most amazing breakfast buffet the next morning that was one of the most comprehensive buffets I’ve ever seen. The outdoor pool was perfect for swimming laps back and forth in the sunshine to burn off my breakfast before I checked out. So for some strange reason people are having difficulties enjoying this basically flawless hotel and leaving bad reviews, which makes me wonder what is wrong with them because there’s certainly nothing wrong with the hotel. I even thought the location was great because it was away from the crowds and noise and stuffiness of the city centre, and it is a nice walk or tram to the Ponte Luis bridge. All in all, a great place to stay, and I hope to return for another visit one day.

I have stayed several times during different seasons of the year at this small paradise hidden in the centre of Gaia. The location, setting, the facilities and the staff are all exceptional. Giving you the feel of a small family run boutique hotel. They pay attention to every details of the stay creating a discreet but memorable experience. All the team (from house keeping to reception ) is impeccable, with a special mention to Daniela Monteiro from reservations and Victor from reception. They have both always been above and beyond in making me and my guests feel at home!

recently stayed at Boeira Garden Hotel Porto Gaia, Curio Collection by Hilton, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations—especially for what was meant to be a long-awaited and special vacation. At check-in, I had specifically requested a room with a swimming pool view. I was informed that such rooms were fully booked. However, to my surprise, when I later checked online, it appeared that rooms with the pool view were indeed still available. I would have appreciated honest and transparent communication, even if it meant simply stating that the request couldn’t be accommodated. Being misled left me feeling disappointed from the very start of my stay. More importantly, the room itself was uncomfortably hot throughout my stay. Despite staff insisting that the air conditioning was functioning properly, the temperature in the room remained very high, making it extremely difficult to sleep. Taking cold showers each night was the only way to attempt some relief, but it did little to improve the quality of rest. What made it more concerning was that several other guests I spoke with also mentioned the same issue—rooms being too hot to sleep in. One guest even noted experiencing an allergic reaction due to the heat, which is deeply troubling. This was meant to be a relaxing and celebratory vacation, but instead, I left feeling exhausted and disappointed. I hope the hotel takes these concerns seriously, as the comfort of guests should always be a top priority.
