This hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel but its definitely a 3 star hotel They seem to rely on the location instead of ensuring service, food and quality of experience is something worth while. Also whats odd is they seem to give better service to non-hotel guests. Hotel guests don’t get beach side drink/food service. You have to go to the bar to order things but non-hotel guests can order from their lounge chairs. The pros: - Location: the beach is beautiful and the property has their own private bay - its stunning - Kid friendly hotel - lots of games The cons: - Sewage smell - the resort clearly has a plumbing issue. Our room smelt of sewage and the hotel claimed its from the beach sand in the shower and sprayed perfume to fix the issue. Other guests said they had the same experience. - The lower priced rooms are much older and outdated in quality (cant speak for the nicer rooms since they were sold out when we booked) - The food - was not good overall. I understand its hard to feed that many guests but the food was really disappointing - Beach is rocky/rough so ensure you have water shoes - The resort cocktails were disappointing. Not mixed well. We stuck to the beer as much as possible because of this
The only thing that was good in this hotel is food in restaurant. But the worse thing of all was that people that weren't guests of hotel were able to come and make crowd at the beach. Even they let people to make wedding and other parties in hotel in the middle of season. Guests who stays few days in hotels are on second place for hotel crew. Terrible experience, I won't recommend this hotel to anyone!
As we arrived, after a long drive of 2 days, the staff at the reception wasn’t too friendly and even unprofessional since they gave us 2 bracelets for adults and 2 for children when we clearly were 3 adults and just one child and made other mistakes that had me questioning whether they tried to lie to us or were just not attentive. However, we were supposed to check in at 15:00 but our rooms were already prepared so we could enter earlier.Things really went downhill when we opened the door to our room. The pluses of the room were only the small fridge that surprisingly did a great job at keeping out water cold all 10 days and the air conditioner, but unfortunately it could only cool down one room, not both. When it comes to the parking spaces, you had the opportunity to park your vehicle near your room, but in this way it would stay all day in the sun. There was also no other option than parking it in the sun. Also, the towels from the hotel had a bad smell and sometimes had stains. To get to the beach, you have to cross many stairs. Our room number was less than 230, so we had to cross only 3 sets of stairs, but if you get a room with its number more than 230, the number of stairs increases. At the beach there is a private area that is reserved only for the guests that paid for the suite, the rest of the beach is reserved for the rest of the guests and other people that want to enjoy the sun. The beach was pretty clean. However, one morning I woke up early in order to reserve the front row seats on the beach and when I opened the door in front of me there were numerous bugs and insects that managed to even get in our room. Despite that, I went to the beach, reserved the seats and after breakfast when I went back I saw my towels being removed with the pretext that those were for disabled people. However, after some hours, the same staff member that removed my towels permitted a couple to sit there and none of them seemed to be disabled. The water does not look in real life as blue as in the pictures. It had a greenish color and it was quite deep even 2-3 meters from the sand, so I would definitely not recommend it if you have small children. The pluses were only the view of the beach which led to Thassos and the fact that there many boats and cruises crossing the water so it was a unique view. Also, every day the umbrellas were opened and closed by the beach staff, so you did not have to worry about this. The bar at the beach was HORRIBLE. The coffee was disgusting and when I asked what is it made for they pulled out a bag of natural coffee beans. I then figured out that those beans actually go in the other coffee machine which you had to pay for. However, one day the coffee from that machine was 2 euros, the other day 5, and the next day was free, so it was confusing. The food at the restaurant was actually good, not all of it, but the most dishes were. One thing I really appreciated was the variety of dishes and that the tables were always clean, as well as the facet that the personal at the restaurant did a great job keeping the place clean. For the price we have paid, I would not recommend this hotel. Our expectations were higher and unfortunately we were disappointed. Even though I complained only one time to the reception in a very diplomatic way, my voice was not heard. I now regret choosing this hotel and the fact that I have waisted my only holiday at this resort.
