Borgo San Francesco

We stayed at the Borgo San Francesco in the first two weeks of July. It was fantastic, we loved it there. We are a family of 5, kids 17,14 and 12. Beautiful grounds, lovely duplex room, nice pool. Breakfast if you want it was very nice and not expensive. We had dinner at the Borgo only a couple times, good quality but we preferred to go out. The Borgo staff are great, very helpful, and we loved the area and the nearby town, Gioiosa Marea, where we often went to eat dinner, walk around and have a gelato. Nice bakery at the bottom of the hill and two wineries also walking distance. Very nice supermarket only 5 minutes away by car. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Nice clean room with mini-kitchen and aircon. William (manager) and Antonio (restaurant manager) were extremely helpful. It was so handy to have the flexibility of choosing which meals to have at the restaurant without having to plan ahead. Always an option for the kids and a vegetarian. The pool was great and never crowded and archery, table tennis were fun. A bakery and a wine producer within 10-15 mins walk too. The breakfast, although good value could have been a little better. What was there was OK but seemed to run out if you came towards the last hour. Maybe some fresh fruit too?

Good nights sleep. Clean basic accommodation for a great price, in authentic borgo with beautiful stepped gardens and quaint buildings. Breakfast was superb great variety and pleasant sunny restaurant with amazing views.
