Borgo Santinovo

My husband and I were so lucky to celebrate our wedding at Borgo Santinovo. All our guests loved the apartments, swimming pool and the entire property. The staff were incredible and went above and beyond for each guest. The wine and food were wonderful. We all decided we will go back for our five year anniversary, can’t wait!

In general the location of Borgo Santinovo (30 min. from Siena) is ok, but the borgo/place is very dark and overgrown and not Well maintained. The place is in need of an Big upgrade. The apartments are in Italien style, which is nice, but they are not very spacious. The kitchens definately need a huge upgrade and a reality check and they lack so much That it was difficult to cook a simple meal. There should at least be an oven. We fell for the borgo style and the pictures of the place, but the pictures are not recent and are much prettier than reality. The pergola house was so small and very damp and it smells bad. The Walls in the smallest bedroom were in need of some paint. There is no window in the tiny bathroom for the 2 bedroom (4 persons) house. The damp space was a nest for moscitoes and it was killing us - even with moscito coils and spray on every evening/night. The house was not clean on arrival and dead flies in the bathroom and kitchen should at least been removed before We Got the key. Even the table in the kitchen was full of spots from previous guests and we had to clean it ourselves. Mind you we had to pay 70€ for the cleaning! The most Odd thing about our stay was that the guests staying there for their summer vacation longing for some Sun were NOT allowed to lie around the pool in the Sun beds or chairs, but were told to Only sit in the courtyard under the trees or on the small area of grass away from the pool. So funny but yet sad. We weren’t even allowed to sit on a planket by the pool due to the grass. The owners didn’t want the grass to turn yellow? We have been in Toscana and Umbria many times, but this place and staff didn’t grow on us and we have actually never felt so estrange with a place. We do not excpect any thing special except a clean place, nice staff and a great pool for bathing and sunbathing and for the amount we paid, we did not feel at Home or liked the space. It is not a place we would like to recomend to others. Please See one of the fotos that sold us the place and in reality we were not allowed to lie by the pool🙃🤥

The location is fantastic. The hotel has so much potential, but it does not live up to it. Our group had five (5) rooms. One room had a bat flying around and at least six (6) spiders crawling in the tub. All the rooms were almost unbearably hot. Wi-Fi is almost non-existent in the rooms. The pool is okay but not particularly well maintained. Our room had no hot water, and the staff did nothing about it after being told. While we hope to return to the area, we will not be returning to this place.
