Botany Beach Resort Pattaya

Beautiful grounds , vast expansive spaces, big pool with plenty of floaters for anyone to relax or play, gardens all around with birds if you are into nature. Enough seats everywhere, even a little skate area. Kids were crazy over the tortoise garden and the catfish pond. Location was superb, and they have a beautiful, clean beach and an attached restaurant on the beach. Sadly there’s no mini mart on the grounds which would have gotten 5 stars for convenience. Service by the reception and guy at the carpark was polite but the housekeeping service wasn’t very good, found hair on the bed which was not ours, perhaps the housekeepers ? No hot water, after complaining, they fixed the hot water but they broke the shower head. The water drain is clogged (maybe with sand ? And we are showering in our own bath water and never feels entirely clean. The sheets, pillows and blanket smells musty and not fresh. The extra bed was terrible and felt like sleeping on a plank, not worth the 700b at all. If you want to charge please get proper mattresses and foldaway beds. Would recommend if you come here, to get a beach bungalow and not the apartments.

Room rate is reasonable, service is same level of price. All area are smoking area , even breakfast . There are non smoking signs but useless.

We booked an expensive villa through Booking.com at a time when we needed to find somewhere quiet after the earthquake in Bangkok, and avoiding the aftershocks. We thought this hotel might provide that, but on arrival, even on a Sunday, we discovered that our villa was right next to some very noisy building works (and look like they are continuing for some time, so beware!). The quite surly receptionist that we spoke with offered to accommodate us with a room that was either inferior to what we had already booked (and not offering compensation) or in an area that was very noisy within earshot of a raucous cafe. There seems to be nowhere quiet and restful in the space. We also noticed that the whole hotel seemed to be cloaked in a not so thin layer of dust, and generally had a very neglected air to it. We spoke with a Booking.com representative who promised that, should the hotel not respond within 4 hours to our request for refund of what we had paid - 20,825 THB (£473) for 5 nights that we would receive it, but in reality we only got 3,749 THB (£85) returned, meaning that we have wasted a large sum of money. Neither the hotel nor booking.com are willing to compensate us any further, and I highly recommend not staying at the hotel, or perhaps even using booking.com again.
