Bougainville Bay Hotel

We only stayed at their beach. Old chaise lounges and straw umbrellas. The building and restaurants and pools etc. are artsy. Made with mosaics and ironworks. Very beautiful and unique but is getting old and the maintenance is not keeping up. The beach was small but the location was excellent for snorkelling. I personally loved it and just for that I would go there again. Too many stairs and steep walking to get to it though. Did not appreciate jet skis being right next to the swimming area. Kind of dangerous. The service was good but the staff was smoking and on their personal phones the whole time. Parking 15€ Beach access 10€ per PERSON and no more then one person per chaise lounge allowed.

Disappointing Stay at Bougainville Resort & Spa – Definitely Not 5-Star Standard Our experience at Bougainville Resort & Spa was far from what you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. The service was extremely poor from the beginning. The room we were first given had torn curtains, the phone didn’t work, and everything—even access to the pool—came with an extra charge. We ordered a soup for our child, and it arrived after one hour. The second time we ordered, it never arrived at all. The food in general was absolutely terrible—definitely not 5-star quality. The staff, especially at reception, were rude and unhelpful, which made the whole stay feel even worse. The only positive part of this experience was the parking area, which was very well organized, and the staff working there were the only polite and professional people we encountered. But again, this was also paid. Overall, it was a huge disappointment. Four days completely wasted. I do not recommend Bougainville to anyone expecting quality service, good food, or real hospitality. 👎🏽

Do not recommend — a disappointing stay on many levels We stayed in the villa section (Villa Sunset), which turned out to be a complete misunderstanding. From the very beginning, there was a lack of clear and honest information: everything, absolutely everything, was extra — access to the pools and even the beach had to be paid for! Villa guests are treated like second-class visitors – we weren’t even allowed to use the elevator, which was completely absurd, especially when carrying luggage. But the list of issues doesn’t end there: • Very poor internet – on the first day it didn’t work at all, and later it was unstable and useless for work or communication. • No air conditioning for the first 3 days, and one day there was no electricity at all. • The kitchen was poorly equipped, missing basic items you’d expect in a self-catering accommodation. • A broken toilet flush. • Electrical outlets didn’t work • Daily sewage smell • A chimney from the restaurant right on the terrace, constantly blowing smoke, made sitting outside unbearable. • In general, dirt, neglect, and chaos – the place looked like no one cared about even the basic standards. Unfortunately, the stay was full of frustration and regret. Instead of relaxation, stress, and irritation. This kind of standard is simply unacceptable.
