Boutique Hotel Maison Bayard

After a rocky start and delayed communication, all ended well, we were welcomed outside check in hours. The room is small, but very nice and enough for a parent and a child. Bathroom is very stylish.

I don't believe this is is a real hotel, something is very strange here. I didn't stay, as I didn't feel safe and the rooms were dirty. When we arrived the two people in the building (there is no reception) seemed incredibly confused that guests had arrived and didn't know what to do and how to check us in. They just gave us a key (didn't take our name) and showed us up the stairs. They then didn't know how to open the door, probably because the lock was broken, or how to turn on the lights. The room itself was dirty, needed hoovering, used Nespresso coffee capsules lying around, litter in the bins, half a toilet roll in the bathroom, one towel for two people. When we said we weren't staying they had no idea what to do or how to resolve the issues. We booked into the Mercure five minutes around the corner, which was clean and had amazing service. Should have booked there initially, but I always want to support a local business and I should have researched properly beforehand, the poor reviews on here are accurate.

The hotel has a lot of potential but it is ruined. Everywhere there are marks on the walls, the shower head has a broken seal, the room is very small almost no space to move, it feels very cheap even if the building is very beautiful from outside. The smell of the entrance is terrible to strong cleaning product and there was no terrace as shown in the pictures but a ruined garden. Also there was no reception and a very ugly and cheap entrance. This is far away from a boutique hotel. Unfortunately we will never stay again in this potentially beautiful place.
