What an amazing place, in a lovely quiet part of Holsted. Dogs are welcome, and we took advantage of the short nature wall by the park that follows a placid, pretty stream. The hotel has an eclectic decor, with themed rooms that are full of character and comfort. And they are incredibly spacious, many of them perfectly suited for families or large parties. We stayed in the Karen Blixen suite and it was incredibly comfortable and restful. The breakfast has no hot food options (beyond boiled eggs at request and a self-serve waffle-maker), but it had a great selection of museli, jams, bread and cheese, deli cuts, pastries, and more
This was my second stay here, and I love it more every time. The rooms are great, decorated by theme, and the bathrooms are awesome; big showers and bathtubs. The best, however, is the atmosphere. Wonderfully relaxed. Our room came with a big kitchen, we borrowed a grill in the common area, and sat outside and ate dinner with wine. This kind of freedom breeds relaxation. We will return!
We were looking for a place to stay somewhere in or near Ribe and came across the pictures and reviews of the Postgarden. The rooms looked so nice compared to other options closer to town so we decided to give the Postgarden a try. Their website makes it easy to select the type of room that suits your needs and they provide pictures of most of the rooms which are very helpful. When we arrived were were greeted pleasantly and immediately felt welcome here. The pictures are very representative of the modern, clean and beautifully decorated rooms. Their facilities are some of the best we experienced in our 12 day visit to Denmark. We had a wonderful room with a four poster bed, refrigerator, microwave and tea kettle, and wonderfully appointed bathroom with a shower and a spa tub. Our room was so nice and cozy with a spacious sitting area that we opted to stay in our room and enjoy the hotel most of the time. This is in a very small town so there is not much else to do in the immediate vicinity, but there is a grocery store across the street and it seems most rooms have some sort of kitchenette. There is also a fine dining / gourmet restaurant called Ribehøj that was only a 10 minute drive where we dined which was spectacular.
