BreakFree Aanuka Beach Resort

The accommodation in the bure unit was lovely, especially the spa bath with the glass ceiling. Everything needed for a stay was provided. The gardens are so well maintained, the resort is stunning. Way too cold to go for a swim in July however the pool was beautiful. The reception staff were professional and welcoming. The restaurant meals were excellent, as were the cocktails. I would stay here again and recommend to others.

The rooms are very dated but comfortable and clean. The biggest let down for the resort is that if you are not close to Restaurant it is a long walk, not always suitable for everyone, and not totally undercover. Restaurant is lovely and food was very good. We were disappointed that there was not really any afternoon snacks available when we went for coffee but the coffee was very good. Would I return, no.

We stayed here a few days ago. We thought we booked back as we came here last year and it was amazing. Firstly we tried call from 7.30am on the day of check in just to see if we could get an early check in, we probably called about 20 times and there was no answer and not even a voicemail option. I finally selected a different option for the restaurant and spoke with someone and they took a message and we didn’t get a call back. When we arrived at reception we asked if the phone was working and was advised by a snappy receptionist that she’s the only one working so she doesn’t answer phones. No apology. We checked into our room and the trundle bed sheets always covered in crumbs and stains and one of the single beds also had stains. Went to make a cup of tea and the kettle had clearly never been wiped down. I understand that it’s off season but the upkeep of the grounds was sad. The only positive thing from our stay was the restaurant staff were friendly and the food was decent. We won’t be coming back here next time we stop through.
