Breakwater Inn

Our stay here saved our vacation! We had reservations at another inn and it was NOT what we thought we were getting. We checked in to Breakwater Inn the next day and were very pleased with the room. Great location within easy walking distance to Dock Square and Colony Beach. They are under new management and in the process of updating and making some changes even so service was great and we had a great time. Would definitely stay here again!

Would not visit again. Although the views were great there was no check in desk. The reservation we received told us to check in across the street but that was not the case. Once we got to the right spot there was a back room I had to get attention of someone. Then they gave us directions to our room which was another building. We were never told about the location of gym or spa. The room was noisy of some air or vent. The restaurant food was good but the staff not very friendly. We were told we can’t enjoy outside food or beverages sitting in the back property. The man who is tall and thin wearing glasses was very cocky when telling us that. Not sure why he chose us to pick on while others were doing it as well.

We had a truly disappointing stay at the Inn, a stark contrast to our wonderful experience five years ago. There was no internet, no TV, no front desk staff and no visible management. Despite asking to speak with a manager three times, we were eventually told he wasn’t working. Our room in the new building was beautiful, but the common areas were uncomfortably hot with no AC. The in-room window unit wasn’t on at check-in, and the room was stifling. The internet didn’t work across multiple devices, and the staff dismissed our concerns. Later, we discovered the TV was broken and the bathroom door wouldn’t close. When we sent our concerns to the front desk for the third time, we were told it wasn’t their fault. We were also misled about amenities—there was no happy hour, and our request for housekeeping (made at 8am) wasn’t fulfilled until after 4pm, and only after a follow-up call. For the price, there are far better options in the area. We won’t be returning.
