Brea's Hotel

Hello, we were there for a couple of nights with a two year old. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The A/C in the room that was given to us initially was at fault but the hotel receptionist (Gabriel) changed and gave another room quickly without any hassles. We very much appreciated and valued his service and hope this comment gets some recognition for his dedication. The hotel is bit far (11kms) from Tarragona but with car it’s manageable if that city is your point of interest else Rues is very close by. Had a positive outcome overall. It’s a good thing that breakfast is included but i’d suggest that they included some scrambled eggs in the menu to have a top notch effort.

So we booked a family room for the 3 of us, and while booking such type of rooms is a common thing for us, never I have ever seem anything quite like it. Our room was absolutely gigantic (probably the size of a decent apartment). We essentially had 2 large bedrooms and a living room. The place was probably 70sqm, it was that big! The breakfast while from a first look, it had a cheap feeling, it was actually super tasty. Orange juice which is often one of my pet peeves was surprisingly very good and the pastries were fresh and tasted delicious. The only “let down” was the service at reception. It wasn’t the most efficient and simple questions/asks seemed difficult to grasp, but that is a small thing compared to the overall value we got from the place. Note: there is a free parking onsite

I travel extensively around the World-Don’t know how on earth this place is rated a 4 star -moved to a hotel in Tarragona downtown that is an actual 4 star / Reception was nice enough to call a Taxi but that’s about it -room was very basic -lampshade missing and zero USB outlets only 220 which is a bit of an issue these days -asked reception if I could borrow or buy a converter (missed mine) -they did not have one which for a 4 star next to Airport is amazing to me -“Breakfast” Buffet was set on bar consisted of danish of 3 types -no continental -unless I completely missed it -I had to book 6 days as family member was in hospital -when i left 4 days early ( I was not checking out ) receptionist made me pay full amount ( my bad I guess) but said well if you wanted only a few nights you should have no booked ) days -fair enough but -pretty crappy all the same One more thing -if you want to meet all the local police officers on there down time -this is the place to go at night -for cigarettes and coffee
