Spotlessly clean cottage. It was perfect for a week in the mountains with friends. Hosts were very responsive to questions. We appreciated the excellent laundry facilities and loved the large yard overlooking the beck — a perfect place to enjoy the late afternoon sun after a day on the fells. There is even a sunken area near the stream where you can soak your tired feet in the cold water. Parking is available down a narrow, cobbled lane—was slightly tricky in our large rental car, but we managed. Would love to come back!

Amazing location! Cute, quaint little cottage with amazing back garden. Be aware that it is very, very small. A fan in the hotter months would be amazing as it gets very hot inside. Unfortunately, there was no BBQ for us to use and other users failing to stick to the 'keep dogs on lead rule' felt I couldn't use the back garden as much as I would have liked, as their dogs were continuously off lead with zero recall. The first evening their 3 dogs rushed at us barking and growling at my on lead dog, I felt intimidated and didn't go back outside if I saw them off lead which they often were. This aspect really put a downer on it for me but I know that isn't the owners fault.

Location: Absolutely beautiful, located next to Blea Tarn Circular walk (also not very far from Scafell Pike) it is a stunning place. Literally a 30 second walk from a nice local pub with decent food and at the time there was a small little local shop across the road from it with a few bits and bobs if needed. If location is your top priority like mine then this is honestly such a great place for you. Amenities and Facilities: The cottages are equipped with decent TVs and Sky as well as WiFi. Massive shared garden out back with loads of seating next to a little beck. The BBQ was difficult to sort out, we never used it in the end (even though we would of liked to since the weather was nice) as issues with local management weren't around to sort that out for us, there were a couple of used makeup wipes left around and some random steaks left in the fridge from past residents I assume as well. All in all decent but due to the latter 2 points I can't say I liked it for this reason. The Cottage: Every single floorboard after the ground floor creaks, the only spot in which the floor doesnt creak thankfully is under the bed, it's not even a case of weight either, my 20kg dog had the floorboards creaking, if you're like me and over 6ft, mind your head and if you're also, like me, and very broad you'll need to go through doors sideways, also as mentioned earlier in hotter seasons it is very hot in the bedroom, so if you struggle with sleeping with a window or two open you'll suffer. The stuff inside the property does make up for the downsides so while it's not a plus point it won't be a negative either. Bathroom: Water pressure is fantastic, our bathroom had a sink, toilet, shower and bath in it which is surprising for the space, the shower though if you're on the taller or larger side of builds you are going to struggle in. My partner said she also struggled and she is substantially smaller than me so while I feel like I cant give it a plus for this I can't take away from it either as it is very personal preference. Management: Greg was good for answering emails and texts and very helpful, Amy was also decent for answering texts but for external reasons she as a local manager couldn't offer much more help. So again neither a positive or a negative. Overall: Honestly it's a 2/5 for me and that is HEAVILY carried solely on location, we paid £610 for 2 nights (£590 +£20 dog fee) I really expected better, if it was cheaper I'd probably come back as the dog does seem to love it here, but while it costs what it does I would be looking elsewhere to return to the area. Edit: (in response to owners reply) My girlfriend texted you regarding the BBQ as well as the cleanliness of the cottage twice to very little response back regarding these issues other than "the BBQ should be there" and "I have no idea why there's no milk". The two windows being open didn't really make a difference we found, while I'll agree the soundtrack is lovely, two windows in the same side of the building don't create a through breeze.
