This hotel was fantastic for myself and my 3 kids for a weekend stay. The team members were amazing. I travel often for work and almost exclusively use Hilton properties. This one is top notch. The service, the cleanliness, the friendliness of the team members is amazing. Our remote to our tv didn't work and they sent someone right up with a new one. Perfect location for exploring Chicago. I cannot say enough nice things about our experience.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! This hotel is near everything but tucked away at the same time. Very walkable opportunity to downtown, parks, and the lakefront. The perk of having the app, I got to pick the floor and room I wanted. The staff were friendly. I had an issue of being charged for parking my entire stay, I didn't have a vehicle. That resulted in an additional $360 charge on my final bill. Corporate couldn't get anyone on the phone to settle this matter. Also, the tub/shower wouldn't drain at standard pace during my stay, so you can imagine after a 5 min shower being ankle deep in water. Not the best experience but it wasn't the worst. I felt completely safe. There are a ton of food and drink options around this hotel. Would I stay here again? Probably not, if I were in a pinch, yes. It is great value for the amount of money you spend. It's a hotel that's "just good enough"
I recently stayed at Homewood Suites in Chicago, and overall, my experience was decent. The rooms were nice and clean, which I really appreciated. Being on the 17th floor, the view from my room was fantastic! However, there were a few downsides. The pool was quite cloudy – it felt like they used too many chemicals because I couldn’t even see the bottom! Plus, it was really cold, which made it less enjoyable. As for breakfast, while it was complimentary, I didn't find it very appealing. I want to emphasize how important it is to use valet parking. I made the mistake of parking in the lot across the street, and my vehicle was almost broken into in broad daylight! I ran out just in time to catch the would-be thief before they could break my window. There were multiple cars there with broken windows, and I think the hotel staff should really warn guests about the safety issues at that parking lot on their website. On a positive note, the restaurant downstairs was good and had decent prices on beer. However, the snack area in the lounge didn’t have much available, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, the hotel wasn’t bad, but my strong recommendation is to avoid the parking lot across the street if you can. Use valet parking instead to keep your vehicle safe!
