decent hotel not too close to central city, quiet area and busy during peak hours
As a young couple the location was kind of bad… but that’s our own fault should have done more research. BIG PROBLEM on arrival however. We checked in and the bag guy who brought our suitcases up to the room was taking ages so i opened the door to look where he was and he was sipping up my carry on. found i was missing 2000 Baht (about $100 AUD). The whole place smelt of illegal substances and the beds were like bricks. Had such a bad experience in the first few hours that my partner decided we were best to find a better location so we checked out. We felt unsafe and unclean in this hotel. Moved over to Pratunum, much nicer area with more options. Such a shame to post this but thought i should draw this point to people’s attentions.
We have done several hotels in Bangkok throughout our journey there, and this was by far the worst. Let’s start with check-in where the staff barely understood some of our questions that we had concerning all day, the shuttle that is supposedly available for guests, concerning the services that the hotel is supposed to provide. The room in itself is spacious, but there are no safeguards at the windows, which could lead to someone falling to their death quite easily. The bathroom has no curtains or door for the shower, which means that every time that someone takes a shower water is everywhere. And let’s not even talk about the shower-head that was broken and never fixed. There is a small space for a kitchenette, that is render completely useless by the lack of microwave or small stove, thankfully there is a fridge. The lighting in the middle of the room is mid at best, So, if you are planning to pack your bag in the middle of the night just before leaving in the morning, you have to do it on the desk. The room service is in existent after 8 pm, and if you have anything delivered to you, don’t expect them to bring it to your room or even ring you to let you know that it has arrived. The food for breakfast is there but nothing tasty or out of the ordinary & the options for vegetarian/vegans are very limited. The air conditioning is terrible in the room as well. All the wind goes to one person in the bed because of how it is situated on the wall. And the pool was freezing cold, not to mention that the windows are not soundproof and you can hear all the trafic outside!!!
