Food was really well cooked and beautifully hot but the chef put sricha in my breakfast wrap when we stated i was allergic to all peppers. Waiter was amazing about it and handled it properly but the chef didn't properly read that I was allergic

I’m in 2 minds to leave this review but I do think afternoon tea needs some work. Hotel gorgeous, interior gorgeous, ambience great. Cocktails not great for an AA hotel. No salt on Margarita, cosmopolitan can’t taste the alcohol. The afternoon tea was strange as you were sharing platter of sandwiches across the table so it was awkward. Sandwiches were tasteless and could have been a lot more inspirational for the £28.50 you pay. Desserts were ok, macaroons were too sweet, blondie too sweet, Bakewell tart too much pastry. Lemon cake was good. I was really looking forward to the desserts based on the flavours but you couldn’t taste the passionfruit in the macaroons. Sausage roll was lovely. Coffee was really good Overall not worth £28.50. Tuna, egg, ham (and only ham) cheese savoury which was very low on the cheese savoury. Overall I enjoyed the afternoon and ambience but I wouldn’t get the afternoon tea again and I’d get wine not cocktails.

My husband and I visited Brockley Hall on Saturday for what was supposed to be a nice date. Unfortunately, the food was completely inedible – we raised this politely with the manager at the time, who actually agreed with us and assured us the complaint was dealt with and he would raise the issues with the chef and would take our food to be shown to the chef. We left disappointed but thought that would be the end of it. However, what followed was truly bizarre and deeply concerning, if we had just had bad food, it would have been left there as it was dealt with but what followed is so weird... My husband later received a Facebook friend request from a member of staff at Brockley Hall – someone we’ve never met or spoken to and was not even present on saturday when we visited. This individual had gone through our booking information, found my husband’s full name, and searched for him on Facebook – despite him not even being from the area and having no friends in common. When we called to speak with the owner, Sally Ann Lewis, about this inappropriate and frankly creepy behaviour, she dismissed it entirely and acted as though we must know the person. We absolutely do not. The fact that any staff member can access private booking information and use it to search for and contact guests is a huge red flag. It's a complete breach of trust and professionalism. We’re incredibly glad we paid in cash and left no further personal details. The lack of boundaries and disregard for guest privacy is appalling. We won’t be returning – and we strongly advise others to think twice before handing over any personal information to this establishment.
