Buenaventura Grand Hotel & Great Moments All Inclusive

We recently stayed at the Buenaventura Grand Hotel for 8 nights, and it was an incredible experience! We want to give a special shout-out to our server, Catherine (on the breakfast and lunch crew), for being so attentive and friendly every day. She made our daughter’s fourth birthday truly special with a beautiful cake and went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and cared for each day. The resort’s smaller size was perfect for our family, making it easy to navigate with kids. The consistent quality of food across the restaurants was great, and the sunset views from the sunset restaurant were unbeatable. We also want to give a shout-out to the Kids Club staff, who were really friendly and engaging with the children with fun events throughout the day. However, we were disappointed when the Kids Club was supposed to reopen after lunch but no one arrived for over an hour, which impacted our plans. Additionally, we wish the Mexican restaurant, which is adults-only, opened earlier in the day when the Kids Club was still being offered, so we could have tried it out. You've got to go to the Fiesta night! It was over the top and was one of our many highlights of the trip! Overall, the exceptional service and warm hospitality made our stay unforgettable. We highly recommend this resort for families looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway.

Ocean view room had no ocean view. Food was decent. Service by the pool was intermission at best. We're not unruley per say but security will be down ur neck in 2 mins if you do anything wrong at all. Some great folks work there, there is just not enough of them. Planned activities did not start when planned and sometimes simply did not happen. Small but nice beach. We will not visit this particular resort in the future.

For a modest AI this hotel is fine but it’s not luxury by any stretch so keep your expectations in the proper zone. Rooms are clean although pretty small. AC really struggles in the warmer months. Breakfast is probably the best meal of the day. Lunch is fair, pool snacks are actually quite good but we are talking about burgers and nachos. The rest of the food is what you’d expect at an AI- it attempts to be good but it’s just not. Beef is lower grade for sure, seafood is iffy which is strange considering you are right on the beach but it happens at these types of hotels and the booze and drinks are plentiful but not good. Decent branded liquors but no glassware - has anyone ever enjoyed a martini or glass of wine from a plastic cup before? The mixers are lower end and all the beer is draft. But the location is good if you like to wander out and eat out which is what we did. If you can stay here for the same price or maybe $50 more than another non-AI nearby then it is good and have breakfast and go on with your day. Otherwise it’s best to stay elsewhere and go enjoy the great food and bars in this town.
