I stayed for five nights with my family. The experience was amazing. Although, on the hottest days of summer, it wasn't the most comfortable. But for me, the most important thing was that the staff was friendly and attentive. They have tons of staff and they always asked me if everything was ok. The atmosphere was magical. It felt like a real castle experience. Exploring the castle and the garden was exciting. The feeling of security while in the castle during a heavy storm was a fantasy come true. Their booking website is outdated and difficult to navigate. I spent a lot of time choosing the rooms. Tip: many rooms actually allow additional beds/"splitting" beds even though the option does not appear on their website. Your best bet is to email or call them. The rooms don't have AC. Surprisingly, this wasn't much of a problem for rooms 41 and 22 even though one day reached 97 F (36 C)!!! The thick stone walls provide enough insulation so the rooms stay cool. However, we spent one night in room 11 (main building) and it was uncomfortable. Almost unbearable. If visiting during the peak of summer I would recommend not booking rooms in the main building or the top floors. The rooms with the best views in my opinion are 22, 23 (terrifyingly high), 33, and 36. Rooms 41 to 44 also probably get good views but maybe limited space for two people to enjoy the view. 33 probably has the best views. Food was pretty good. The set dinner menus may be worth the 40 euro for staying guests. I wouldn't pay the full 85 euro. There's plenty of other restaurants in the area. I wished they changed up the breakfast options. It was the same items for all five mornings.
A beautiful castle and gardens with amazing views. There are multiple romantic sitting areas in the gardens and around the castle. The food was delicious and they were very flexible when I mentioned my food allergy at the table. I didn’t realize it was a set 4 course meal otherwise I would’ve mentioned it earlier. You can park directly under the hotel with a short walk up. Don’t be deceived, your car will fit over the bridge.
How can I put words on THE most incredible stay of our lives? This Castle has it all. We stayed in the double tower romantic room and it was amazing. The view was breathtaking, The museum is free to guests and there is an incredible garden the bedroom design really made you feel you were back in time. Bubble bath, shampoo & soap were all there, plus drinks. The breakfast was unmatched. Plenty of photo opportunities and everywhere you look you see a historical presence perfected. Can not thank the hotel staff enough for the evening, only regret is getting there late at night we missed the garden. For those with access needs you can only take the elevator so far up, the tower has steep stairs and so does the museum
