Burnside Hotel

Very well maintained hotel, freshly decorated and pleasantly furnished in a modern, imaginative style. Very comfortable bed and a good bathroom with excellent shower. Our room (11) faced the woodland so was very quiet. Easy parking on site for a small charge. The food at breakfast and in the adjoining Cask & Tandoor bar/restaurant was of very good quality. Service from the staff was of the highest standard. The young ladies at breakfast were impeccable in their manner, efficiency and thoughtfulness. They carried out their tasks with great charm and dignity. Our stay was enhanced by the presence of Minty who from our arrival was a delight to converse with. Each day she greeted us warmly and took a friendly interest in our plans, giving us very good advice on how to enhance our visits to the local area. Burnside is an ideal place to stay for Stratford and the surrounding area being a very short drive or brief walk from Stratford's attractions. Having booked a return visit already I'm sure it will be the second of many.

This is a fabulous hotel. The room was huge & had a super king-size bed. The walk in shower was great. Coffee pods available as well as tea making facilities. Iron & ironing board available. Smart TV. It was a very sunny day but the curtains did not leak any light so you weren't woken with the morning light. There is a lift to the first floor. Only 24 bedrooms. Decor beautiful. Friendly, courteous Reception staff. We didn't have an evening meal as we were out visiting family. For me one of the best features was breakfast. What a difference sitting at a table with a white linen cloth & white bone China cups. It was table service no queueing up to put the toast on or wandering around looking for the milk. No. It was waitress service. Again the staff were courteous & polite. Toast in a toast rack. Real tea not tea bags. Cooked breakfast beautifully presented. It was a touch of luxury! There was a good variety of breakfasts, not just full English. I booked through the hotel itself and had a bed n breakfast deal. But if you just booked the room you'd be paying £15.95 for breakfast whether it was a full English or avocado on muffin. But whichever way you do it, have the breakfast. They also ask for £75 refundable deposit I suppose in case of accidental damage. Parking is on site. There is a ramp into the hotel for people with mobility issues. There is Craft Beer for those who enjoy a pint. All in all, a great experience & would highly recommend it.

If you want to ruin your holidays - that’s the place to go! We travel around all Uk and Europe with kids and FIRST time we been basically thrown away in the middle of the night with 2 small kids!!! We booked one room for my husband and me + our kids 1&3 yo! They don’t need separate space as they sleep with us! We had long ride and arrived after 9 pm, there was NO RECEPTIONIST, guy who met us came from KITCHEN, he called someone telling that they CANT accommodate us! We had to wait 1 h for manager to arrive to simply turn us away! She offered to take family room which was triple price - in the same time they refuse to give refund even though on website they say kids under 4 stay FREE! We all can stay people, we was tired, how can someone turn away couple with small kids in the middle of the night! Manager was rude, disrespectful. We travel a lot but never ever I seen such a place! Also hotel look nice on photo - in reality super old and smelly!
