Burntwood Court Hotel

Ideally located for our trip, all of the staff we met were extremely friendly from the cleaners to the reception and bar staff, they really were very helpful with any needs we had. The leisure facilities were top notch and very clean. The hotel is a bit out from the town so we stayed around every evening which wasn't an issue as the food was excellent. Highly recommend a stay here and should my work bring me back that direction I will be staying there again.

Went for a function, and nice venue. Buffet food was provided by the wedding party and have to say the food was really good. No complaints. Good selection of drinks, but was driving so it was 0% Guinness for me

I recently visited Burntwood Court for the first time, primarily to enjoy the spa and wellness day with my mother. We were very pleased with the facilities and service during that visit, which motivated me to consider it as a venue for a special weekend with my husband for our anniversary. I booked our stay through Booking.com, which I find very convenient. Initially, I attempted to add breakfast and spa access to our reservation via the booking platform, but it was not possible. I decided to arrange these on arrival at the reception. Upon check-in, I was met with an unwelcoming attitude from the receptionist. She looked at us somewhat strangely when she found out we had booked our room through a booking platform, which felt uncomfortable. She didn’t ask us if we could afford the additional services, but she repeatedly mentioned the prices of breakfast and wellness options multiple times, which gave us an impression that we might not be able to afford them. Furthermore, she explained that the spa was upstairs with procedures, and that what we wanted was called "club entrance." This unnecessary clarification made us feel as though we did not belong there, which was disheartening, especially since we arrived happy and eager to enjoy our stay. Additionally, we were not provided with information regarding breakfast timings or restaurant options; we had to discover these details ourselves from a brochure. We also ordered food from outside, as no one informed us about available dining options. This lack of communication was frustrating, especially given the expectation of a high standard for the price paid. During breakfast, I was quite disappointed by the behavior of the staff. One staff member was yawning openly without covering their mouth, which I found extremely unprofessional and disgusting—especially in a setting where guests are trying to enjoy their meal. After about 20 minutes, we went to our room in the building with the pool and spa. The second receptionist was very friendly and confirmed that payment had been received, which was reassuring after the initial confusion. However, the first receptionist later contacted the spa reception to verify the payment, claiming we had not paid, which caused unnecessary stress. The spa and wellness facilities themselves were excellent and provided a relaxing experience. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by other issues. For example, at 7:20 AM, we were awakened by a car parked just 3 cm from our bedroom window, despite a large parking area only 10 meters away. This was both disruptive and disappointing, especially given the price of the room. Overall, I expected a higher standard of service considering the price and the options offered. The breakfast was quite expensive compared to the limited menu, and the staff’s manners and professionalism varied, which impacted our overall experience. While the facilities and wellness services are excellent and would encourage us to return for that aspect alone, the service and certain aspects of the accommodation did not meet our expectations. In conclusion, while Burntwood Court has fantastic spa and wellness amenities, I believe there is room for improvement in customer service and communication. I would not choose to stay here again for a visit.
