We came to Midyat Antique Hotel for a family holiday. The hotel is 8 km from Midyat and we were a little skeptical, but as soon as we entered the hotel, we liked it very much. It is really a perfect place to relax, as it is far from the city. It is not just a single building, the hotel has a huge garden area and there are many facilities available. Anyone who wants to camp here can do so. Thank you, Midyat Antique Hotel.
We still haven't been able to make amends. I have no respect for any institution or organization that doesn't value people. It's 9 in the morning, no breakfast, no one at the reception. We're sitting there, and there's no room to even care. Even though the rooms look authentic and nice, we had a hard time standing because of the dust. It's possible to make a mistake, but it's impossible to be indifferent. I don't forgive them. We agreed that breakfast was included, and I'm requesting the payment back to my account. There's also this: even if you send the money back, the rating will remain the same; when you provide such good service, it will change. They also said the pool could be used, but it's filthy. You can't swim in such a pool anyway. After this comment, I received a call asking for an IBAN for a refund. Finally, they asked if I could revise our comment, of course, they added it. Then I realized I already have my account number because I sent a deposit. If they wanted to refund it, they would have. Their sole purpose was to call me with an IBAN and ask me to correct my comment. Just so you know, we couldn't make amends.
Before arriving at this hotel, I checked their website for availability. Rooms were available, costing 2,200 lire, including breakfast. When I showed up at the hotel, without any guests, the receptionist told me the price was 4,000 lire! I'm a tourist; unfortunately, I don't speak Turkish. When I asked if they spoke English, the response was a laugh. Thanks to the translation app on my phone, we managed to speak. I pointed out that on their website, the room—beautiful, large, and spacious—is listed for 2,200 lire. The receptionist called someone else, perhaps the manager? He didn't speak English either. After a long negotiation, during which the two young men spoke Turkish among themselves, often laughing, we agreed on 2,200 lire, but for a room in a cave, with work tools inside. That's fine. I asked what time breakfast was, and they told me breakfast wasn't included. The restaurant was closed. When I asked why they charged me double the actual price of the room, they pretended not to understand and laughed among themselves. I left and, for 2,500 lire, slept in a hotel 10 km away with a pool, restaurant, breakfast, and all the comforts. Dear owners, I love the Turkish people for their honesty, hospitality, and generosity. You do not honor your people. Just because I'm a foreign tourist, you tried to take advantage of me. You're wrong! Review your policies; I'm a customer, not a fool.
