We had the most amazing stay at this hotel. On arrival they had upgraded us to a room looking over the canal, which was such a lovely surprise. The room was comfortable, modern and spacious and the view of the canal was perfect. The breakfast was delicious and had a wide range of choice. Though the highlight of our stay was the incredibly friendly staff, Nicole and Diletta on the front desk in particular were very smiley and friendly, and all of the staff at breakfast were efficient and welcoming. We would love to stay here again and cannot fault a thing! :)
This hotel is a few blocks from the train station in Venice. It is the nicest Best Western Hotel we have every stayed in. It was built in1460. It has been modernized and is very attractive, ,clean and comfortable. The staff all spoke English quite well. They were friendly and helpful. We arrived too early to check into the room. We checked our luggage at the reception desk and had lunch at the hotel's restaurant. The food was very good, and the menu was quite interesting. Once our room was ready, we used the elevator to reach our floor and get settled. The desk staff gave us a map of Venice and helped us with directions to places for our tours. We enjoyed the fantastic hotel breakfast buffet each morning. The area was clean and well stocked with a huge variety of foods including juices, fruits, cheeses, meats, breads, cereal, and many types of pastries. We sat inside but could also have been seated on a patio. One of the patios faces the Grand Canal. When it was time to leave, we waited at the hotel's pier for our water taxi.
The staff in this hotel are what make it great. Such friendly staff! Loved having breakfast here in the morning overlooking the canal (just be careful for seagulls!) Rooms were okay. Nothing special but good for what they were and great location to go explore Venice and leave Venice, which I did one day to go explore the Veneto region of Italy. I’d recommend this hotel for the location as described above and the fantastic staff.
