Everything about our stay at the C. Baldwin Hotel was exceptional. The room was spotless, quiet, and stylish, with blackout curtains that helped us sleep in comfortably. The bed was plush and cozy, and housekeeping refreshed the room while we were out. A big thank you to Torrence at the front desk, who made check-in smooth and easy. He was professional, welcoming, and set the tone for a great stay. The hotel itself smelled like a spa and had such a peaceful, upscale atmosphere. The breakfast buffet at the downstairs restaurant was a highlight—fresh oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, proteins, and made-to-order waffles and omelettes. Everything was fresh and delicious. Valet parking was on the expensive side, but the team was prompt, polite, and always on point. The location is super convenient, close to lots of food options, and the hotel even offers a shuttle for nearby trips. This will definitely be my go-to hotel any time I’m in Houston. Highly recommend!
Very nice hotel. Your staff is amazing. Sarah at the front desk was very professional & friendly! Rosie the hostess at Rosalie restaurant was very professional and friendly. Blanca delivered the fresh baked cookies to my room she is very friendly and professional as well. I’ll be back. Award all of your staff for their outstanding service!
I recently stayed at this hotel and, while the location is excellent (conveniently close to everything I needed) the experience overall left much to be desired, primarily due to the poor service. In short, I had/still have plenty bites on me from my stay. Not sure if from bed bugs or maybe a previous guest had dog with fleas, but the front desk staff did not care at all. Service: Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing aspect of my stay. The front desk staff were inattentive, often chatting amongst themselves rather than addressing guests. Messages went unanswered, and my attempts to raise a serious concern were essentially ignored. I informed the staff that both I and my partner had been waking up with bug bites that increased night after night. I wasn’t asking for anything, just acknowledgment; but not even a basic apology was offered. It was incredibly disheartening to feel completely disregarded about something most hotels would take VERY seriously. Housekeeping: Housekeeping was also an issue. I requested service after they remade the bed using visibly stained sheets and failed to replace the face towels they had removed. It felt like minimal effort was put into cleanliness or guest comfort. Parking: Parking is inconvenient unless you’re willing to valet. There are very limited options otherwise, which made coming and going a hassle. Room Quality: On a more positive note, the room itself was quite nice. I’ve stayed in different rooms during previous visits, and they typically offer a decent view. However, the design choice of having no door on the shower leads to water escaping and making the bathroom floor quite messy. Food & Dining: The on-site food is just okay, not bad, but not memorable either. Breakfast ends at 10:30 a.m.. A brunch option, like I’ve seen at other hotels, would have been appreciated. Final Thoughts: In the end, you may feel like you’re just paying for a bed and the location, not the level of service you’d expect from a hotel that positions itself as somewhat upscale. Guests deserve to feel seen, heard, and valued. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
