A lovely small hotel operated by a friendly and helpful couple that gave me a map and advice for my hike up to the Northern Alps.

Really cozy place to stay - the building is full of personality and character. Owners are very wonderful Japanese people who give the classic Japanese service level they're known for. Rooms were good. You get all you need for a day on the slopes: breakfast (small but very tasty), heat, hot water, clean water, some tubs to unwind in (their ofuro is great!), and really really good food (try their course set, owner smokes a lot of things wonderfully). Curfew is at 11pm, but we never hit it because who stays out past 11 when you gotta hit the slopes early to maximize the time? ;)

Kozo and Hiroko are wonderful hosts, the accommodation is very clean, comfortable and cozy and guests are well looked after. The food was absolutely delicious we thoroughly enjoyed the homemade speciality dishes. A lot of care and attention has been put into making guests feel welcome. A great location for the winter season, close to everything you need right in Echoland and 2 mins walk to Hakuba Base Camp for the bus/shuttle.
