My wife and I traveled to Northern Spain on our honeymoon and stayed at Granja Paraiso a total of 4 nights. The scenery in which this hotel is situated is incredibly beautiful. If you love the outdoors, this is the perfect place for a retreat. Not only that, it is situated close to the major attraction of the region - Los Picos de Europa. The hosts themselves are friendly and hospitable. My spanish is poor and they did their best to communicate with us. They were also available and did their best to accommodate us whenever possible. Note that the hotel is situated in a rural mountainous region, which has narrow paths leading to it. Contrary to what some other reviews are saying, the path is safe if you know how to drive. We are from Canada where the roads are very large, and we had no issues.
A real paradise in the middle of the mountains. Feli is the best host and will accommodate to your needs.
Amazing views are the highlight of this place. Would have been hard to navigate in a bigger car and we had to use a YouTube video to get there as it was so remote. Accomodation is very basic and could have done with better bed linen and towels. Better quality food would also have been better. You are paying for the view of the mountain. The English speaking volunteer staff were very informative. Would benefit from an update in decor and more services like a more comfortable viewing area, bar or restaurant. We arrived and it was raining and we couldn't sit in glass cafe if we didn't eat. Food was really basic. Most people seemed to bring their own food and a very small fridge was supplied. Very remote but would have liked to be more aware of facilities for eating and drinking. Only vending machines for water etc and we didn't have cash with us. We also had to pay extra to bring our car down the hill a bit and park in the lower car oark and due the rain we had to.
