Cactus Royal Resort & Spa

Wonderful Vacation in Crete I stayed at the Cactus Royal hotel for a week at the middle of July and was absolutely delighted with my stay. 🔹The most pleasant impression was the friendliness and customer-oriented attitude of the staff. At this hotel, you truly feel at home, knowing that you will be well taken care of and that they will do their best to meet all your wishes. 🔸The food was absolutely excellent, with grilled dishes, a good variety of meat and fish — everything was delicious. Special mention goes to the desserts — I’ve stayed in many five-star hotels, but this is the first time the desserts were so incredibly tasty and beautifully presented, like from a real patisserie. If you’re on a diet and have a sweet tooth — do not come to this hotel 😄, because you simply won’t be able to resist the desserts! There were different desserts every lunch and dinner, and they were always very, very delicious. Almost every evening featured a themed dinner night with dishes from different cuisines — everything was very tasty. I also highly recommend visiting the à la carte Greek restaurant — I had the best Greek salad of my life there! Everything I ordered was very, very good — you won’t regret it. 🔹A lovely bonus — the hotel offers freshly squeezed juices to choose from: pineapple, kiwi, watermelon, melon. You could order them in unlimited quantities, which was a delicious and refreshing treat for breakfast. 🔸In the evenings, there was a light and pleasant entertainment program, and the lively nearby street with various shops and cafés made sure you never got bored. 🔹The hotel has a great spa and gym, open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., which was very convenient. There is a large indoor pool and several types of saunas. I also recommend getting a massage — I had one with Demetrios, and I really enjoyed it.

This is a very lovely 5* hotel, the rooms are very clean and tidy. They had a coffee machine with capsules, which added more value. The decor was lovely. The food was lovely, and there were so many varieties to choose from. Maria, the lady who cleaned our room, did it to perfection . Oleannna ( not sure of the spelling) in the restaurant was very efficient and friendly. So were chef Valentino and Andrea . These people and a few more added more value to our holiday and made it more enjoyable. More than 80% of the hotel guests were German and Dutch speaking. The few downsides, which wasn't really a big issue, was that for a non-smoker, you tend to get smoking fumes blown in your face at every corner. The chef that served on the breakfast ( frying the eggs) was very grumpy, and even when i said hello, he never acknowledged me. Which i found a bit strange . I and my friend had a full body massage at the hotel spa. The two ladies, Anjya and Stella, were very professional and friendly . It was one of the best massages i have had in a long time. In summary it's a very lovely hotel and i would love to return anytime i am holidaying in Crete. Many thanks to the management and staff for all their hard work.
