Cairns Central Plaza Apartment Hotel

Having spent a couple of months travelling around Australia's East coast and staying at a variety of places, I have to say it was a delight to stay at the Central Plaza! The receptionist was friendly and helpful, particularly when needing to drop my luggage before check in and after check out. My room was super with stunning views out across the city with the backdrop of the mountains in the background - amazing! It was clean, comfortable, bright and modern with all the amenities I needed plus effective A/C - essential in the tropics! On top of that, it's in a great location whereby you can walk to all major places in Cairns, including the Esplanade. The only less positive feedback would be that it was a bit surreal entering a reception area that is shared with a hospital - it would make sense to have this on the actual first floor of the hotel. Also, the swimming pool on the roof terrace could do with a deep clean and update. That aside, a great stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is just next to the largest shopping centre in Cairns. The rooms are spacious and equipped with full cooking facilities.

The room size was amazing and everything you needed was provided. Very quite and views were awesome from inside or out on the very large balcony. New carpets in publuc corridors and the unit looked like it had been renovated recently and was fresh, clean and modern. Not having and arconditioner in the bedroom was very strange - there was one split system in the kitchen/dinng area for the entire unit. You had to leave the door open if you wanted to try and cool the bedroom down, or put up with the heat. An extra split aurconditioner in the bedroom would make a huge difference. Overall a great location, unit size and amenities and would stay again.
