Calamander Unawatuna Beach

Amazing resort, has all the facilities. Rooms were huge and clean, bathroom was massive, biggest I've ever seen. Both pools were nice, didn't get time but they had an area for badminton, table tennis, and beach football. The resort is built on the beach side so all beach activities are accessible, such as snorkeling, jet ski and others. Plenty of bars and restaurants built on the beach right next to the resort. This place is definitely worth your stay, I'm going again for sure.

This resort wasn't what i was expecting, it is nice enough but lacked the final touches that would have made it great. When i travel i want to experience the local environment and culture, when you walk into the dining area, over looking the Indian sea, and see a sign that says they are serving 'Full English Breakfasts, it puts me right off. Overall though it was a very nice place for the one night i stayed there, nice rooms and great bathrooms with a jacuzzi bath. The bar was on the beach and the restaurant area is well sited overlooking the beach and sea. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.

This hotel is a good balance of comfort, luxury and simplicity. Rooms are decent for the price. Location is good, pools are nice and staff is friendly. A lovely beach stretches in front of the hotel where one can take a long walk. Sometimes fish is sold out on the outside barbeque because it's all subject to availability in the local market. At least it's always fresh!
