Caldera Beach

Myself, and a big family group have just had a fantastic holiday at Caldera Beach in Crete. The resort is so lovely, and close to other nice places to visit. The hotel itself, and location was perfect. So great being next to a beach. The views of the sea, and mountains were beautiful. The rooms were a good size, and kept really clean, with clean towels as often as needed, and sunbed towels. The cleaner was really kind and very thorough. The food was absolutely amazing in the buffet restaurant and the Greek Taverna restaurant, and the waiters and waitresses were excellent, very friendly and considerate. Nothing was too much trouble. The pools were fab! The kids (aged between 5 - 17) spent most of their time in them. I would highly recommend it, and would love to go there again.

We spent some holidays in a past years in a hotels better and worst and we had some sort of level of everything that we didn’t want go lower. We’ve searched for this year holiday for 6 months because one bad review put us off. But decided to spend this year at Caldera and that was the best decision ever. Starting from reception, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We were offered to leave baggage’s at the reception and stuff will take them to the room. We didn’t use this service. We got the room at the lowest ground which was a bit dark but travelling with a toddler was very handy as we weren’t woken up at the sunrise 😅 and the bushes around the balcony (we complained about them at first) turned out to be very handy at evenings when we sat there during heavy wind. We still could enjoy the quiet evening there without freezing. Rooms are fully equipped with toaster, coffee maker fridge freezer and table for 4 ppl. Room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. Even all teddies in the cot were placed nicely. The area around the hotel was very clean and neat. Cleaned everyday. When the guy that was cutting the grass noticed that my child wasn’t comfortable with the noise stopped immediately and let us pass without stressing the child. The main point - food was absolutely amazing! There was nothing we didn’t like and we are picky eaters. Loads of choices from meat, fish, veggie, and seasoned perfectly. The local corner was our favourite. Hummus, cheese thyme honey ♥️ Local sweets for dessert ♥️ if I only had two stomachs to fit it all in 😅 We’ve been there for 7nights and food never repeated. Loads of classes at the pool. From kids swimming lessons to aqua aerobic, kids corner with activities. The direct access to beach was definitely a huge advantage for an evening walk when is quieter than during the day. We’ve travelled around and at the local areas (as we prefer to stay between locals on holiday) and I must say I’m in love with Crete after this holiday. With the views and spices and food ♥️ We definitely will be coming back!

Located on a steep hill gives brilliant views. Good for families. We travelled with a one- and a two-year-old. The splash-park was a given one, however limited opening hours and slippery on the floor. We could also enjoy another pool with a shallow end. No plastic cups or plates in restaurant was a slight extra stress factor with such small children. Food ok but not a very good selection of sweet stuff other than at breakfast and no sparkling water at breakfast (why?). Cleaning excellent. The children enjoyed both the indoor- and outdoor play areas. We would definitely consider revisiting. We had all inclusive which we prefer and we are over all happy with our stay.
